Pompeii and the Roman Viilla

Today we spent sometime at the Museum we went to the Pompeii and the Roman Villa exhibition  that was reviewed by the LA times as a very good exhibition.  I am sad to say that I was not very impressed by the way the show was curated there were of course very beautiful and impressive sculptures but at the  end of the show the rooms felt over cluttered with art that was made in the 1800's depicting their depiction of Pompeii and the room felt claustrophobic at times. I think the show is over priced and I wish they would have actually tried to replicate the villa that would of been interesting to see.Besides going to the Pompeii Exhibition we went to see other exhibitions and the one that left all of us perplexed was the Latin America Exhibition once again badly curated by Jorge Pardo massacred the art of the Mexican sculpturalist the viewer could not concentrate on the collection of Mexican sculptures but instead on the space that enclosed these sculpture as well as the entire space. As a Scenic Designer I was insulted by him this curator caring more about his design of the space instead of the art that is being represented.

The new Broad Contemporary Museum has a lot of wonderful art that is based on contemporary artist like Jeff Koons and all his fun
sculptures and it seems like their collection will be growing and the space has a lot of potential to welcome new and exciting artist in the future.
On the Picture on the right we are posing in front of  an outside sculpture made out of Tupperware bins and containers that are made by endless rows of these colorful plastic containers rigged and hanged outside of the museum.
